Rheumatology – diagnosis and treatment of joint and muscle pain

A rheumatologist diagnoses and treats pain and loss of movement in muscles and joints. This may include neck or back pain (with or without signs of a slipped disc), pain in the shoulders or arms, joint pain, or stress-related pain in the feet.

Common causes of pain include osteoarthritis, overuse injuries, inflammatory joint diseases (such as gout, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis, or connective tissue disease), chronic muscle pain, or injury.

Multidisciplinary rheumatology assessment

Through a detailed consultation and physical examination – possibly supported by blood tests, ultrasound, or MRI – the rheumatologist can identify the cause of your pain and start the right treatment plan.

Aleris has a large, multidisciplinary team offering rapid diagnostics and treatment – all under one roof. All tests and scans are performed in-house by our own specialists. Throughout your course of care, you will be seen by the same rheumatologist, who coordinates your treatment and ensures a smooth, efficient experience.
