Varicose veins can cause i.e. cosmetic discomfort, soreness, heaviness, restlessness, cramps, swelling, and itching. 

In 2-5%, complications with skin changes occur which can develop into chronic brown discolouration, eczema or skin ulcers. 

If your varicose veins are not treated, they usually get worse over the years. We recommend treatment if there are: 

• Significant cosmetic problems
• Skin changes
• Ulceration
• Tendency to swelling of the ankles
• A lot of restlessness or cramps in the legs
